Conspiracy

Just this Tuesday (Feb 20), I finally got to read a poem publicly--at the Conspiracy, at Visayas Ave. It's a bar, and it holds Poetry nights. I read the poem i just posted, and I wrote it last year but revised it just last week to make it worth reading publicly. Thanks Mel, Ron, Moki, and April! They helped me in revising my poem.

Wash 'n Wear

He blinks, his eyes widen—surprised that he would see us here. She is just about to eat her dinner, and I’m still waiting for mine. It’s nine, and we’d just com from class; the class which he teaches.

She blinks, and then she sees him there, a table away—no longer in the pictures posted on a site. No longer would she wonder how he would be like wearing a t-shirt and jeans. She’s here with him—outside the classroom.

I see him then. He smiles, and she and I smile back. He then stands up, I blink and he’s at the door.

She touches the rim of the glass on her lips, and looks at me; I take a napkin to wipe the mayonnaise off my lip.
